[origin: WO2006032267A1] The invention relates to timber or derived timber products, especially from fatty acid ester-containing timber, which have no off-odor caused by the degradation products of the fatty acid esters and which emit unsaturated aldehydes in a concentration of not more than 2 µg/m<SUP>3</SUP>. For this purpose, the fatty acid esters already contained are cleaved, inhibited or oxidized during production of the timber or derived timber products.
