Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006035171A1] The invention relates to a method for the electrical protection of an electrical household appliance that is used to prepare food (1), comprising an electric pump (2) which is supplied with alternating current in order to convey a liquid (3) through a conduit (4) and a heating element (5) in order to raise the temperature of said liquid (3). According to the invention, the instantaneous value of the current I supplied to the pump (2) is measured at regular time intervals. The invention is characterised in that it comprises the following steps consisting in: calculating the average value an of the current I measurements m taken over a pre-determined time period T; comparing the average value an with a reference value aref calculated as the average value of the current I measurements taken over an earlier period of the same length; and opening the pump supply circuit (2) when the difference between the average values aref and an exceeds a pre-determined threshold value ?1 for at least two successive time periods T.
