Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006029884A1] The invention relates to a method for operating a liquid ring compressor provided with an impeller which is received in an eccentric manner in a compressor housing. Gas is guided to the suction side of the liquid ring compressor and gas is withdrawn from the pressure side of the liquid ring compressor. A liquid ring is produced on the inner side of the compressor housing by rotating the impeller in the liquid ring compressor. Chambers are embodied between blades of the impeller and the liquid ring, wherein gas is suctioned. The gas is compressed in the chambers which reduce in an inward manner from the suction side to the pressure side based on the rotation of the eccentric arrangement of the impeller. The compressed gas is pushed out on the pressure side. An ionic liquid is used as an operational liquid in order to produce the liquid ring compressor.
