[origin: WO2006034685A1] The invention relates to a geodesic device, which is used in conjunction with a tacheometer to determine the co-ordinates of a target point, if there is no line of sight between the tacheometer and the target point. Said device (1) comprises a housing (2) containing the two planar mirrors (3) of the orthogonal mirror. The housing (2) of the geodesic device (1) also contains a vertical axis marker (9), which is located in such a way that its axis corresponds to the vertical axis (15) of the geodesic device (1). The geodesic device can be fixed to a tacheometer bar (8) or alternatively to a tripod (16) by means of adapters that are provided on the housing (2). The geodesic device (1) is positioned eccentrically, in conjunction with a tacheometer, so that the co-ordinates of a target point can be determined, if there is no line of sight between the tacheometer and the target point.
