[origin: WO2006032241A1] The invention relates to a message and arrangement for detecting the movement or angle of rotation of moving mechanical components, wherein code signals are evaluated, said signals being produced by scanning several code tracks (2,3,4,5;2',5') which are disposed in the vicinity of each other perpendicular to the direction of movement on the moving component by means of respectively associated detector lines (6,7,8,9,10) of a stationary sensor. Additional lines of detectors (10) are arranged in such a way that at least one of the detector lines (6,7,8,9,10) can be allocated, with maximum tolerance (AT) of the moving component, perpendicular to the direction of movement of each code track (2, 3, 4, 5; 2', 5' ).
