Die Erfindung betrifft eine Leit- oder Kontaktwalzenanordnung zum Handhaben einer Materialbahn (2), insbesondere in einer Wickelmaschine (1), deren Umfangsfläche zumindest teilweise einen Abschnitt eines Laufpfads (16) der Materialbahn (2) von einer ersten Position (P1) zu einer zweiten Position (P21, P22) bildet, wobei an der Leit- oder Kontaktwalze (3, 4) wenigstens ein Materialbahnsensor (17) vorgesehen ist. Die erfindungsgemäße Leit- oder Kontaktwalzenanordnung ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Materialbahnsensor (17) einen Temperatursensor (18) umfasst, der an einem ortsfesten, der Leit- oder Kontaktwalze (3, 4) benachbarten Bauteil (6.1, 6.2) angeordnet ist und der auf die Leit- oder Kontaktwalze (3, 4) ausgerichtet ist.
