Abstract (en)
The muffler has two exhaust gas-carrying pipes connectable to corresponding exhaust line of an exhaust system or forming an integral component of respective exhaust line. A housing contains a damper space arranged between two carrying pipes and has two longitudinal side walls, where each of the side walls is formed by two wall section of each of two pipes. The housing has half-shells manufactured by deep thawing and are designed as identical parts. Side walls, top wall and bottom wall are each mounted on two pipes and the mounting is accomplished with the help of a weld (30). An independent claim is also included for an exhaust muffler system comprising a muffler.
