[origin: WO2006037394A1] The invention relates to a device for actuating a lock in the body of a vehicle. A housing with a manually actuator is provided that is mounted in an opening (11) of the vehicle body. To this end, said opening comprises fastening points (12), and the housing comprises counter fastening points between which joining means are placed. The aim of the invention is to be able to mount modified housings (20.1) inside the same opening (11). To this end, an adapter (30.1) is used that, on its outer side (31), comprises mounting points (34.1) and, on its inner side (33), comprises counter mounting points (32.1). In addition, two sets of joining means are provided that should depict adapter connections (35) and vehicle body connections (15). The adapter connections (35) engage inside the counter mounting points (32.1) from the adapter (30.1) and into the counter fastening points (22.1) on the housing whereby creating a preassembled modular unit (40.1). The outside dimensions (36.1, 37.1) of the modular unit (40.1) are smaller than or equal to the inside dimensions (16, 17) of the opening (11). The finished modular unit (40.1) is inserted (44) into the opening (11) of the vehicle body and is secured therein by means of the vehicle body connections (15). The vehicle body connections (15) engage inside the fastening points (12) of the opening (11). Mounting points (34.1) on the adapter (30.1) provided in the same arrangement pattern are assigned to the fastening points.
