[origin: WO2005068888A1] Disclosed is a coupling device comprising a sleeve-shaped, rotationally symmetrical basic member (3) that embraces the two ends of the pipe sections (1, 2). Said basic member (3) is provided with a central zone (4) encompassing an inward-facing conical stop (16) that matches the diameter of the pipe sections (1, 2), and zones (7) adjoining both sides of said central zone (4) for accommodating the pipe sections (1, 2). The interior wall thereof is provided with at least one inward-facing collar (10) while the exterior wall thereof is provided with an outward-bent lip (8) across from the collar. Axially movable pressing rings (5) that surround the adjoining zones are provided for pressing the inventive device.
