[origin: EP1798183A1] A speed governor sheave, which can rotate integrally with a sheave shaft, is supported on a pedestal. A flyweight, which is displaced from a normal position to a trip position due to a centrifugal force resulting from rotation of the speed governor sheave, is provided on the speed governor sheave. An adjusting lever, which can turn in a circumferential direction of the speed governor sheave, is provided on the sheave shaft. A coupling body having a balancing spring for urging the flyweight in such a direction as to act against the centrifugal force is provided so as to connect the flyweight and the adjusting lever to each other. An operation member, which can be displaced in an axial direction of the sheave shaft, is provided on the sheave shaft. The adjusting lever can be turned through displacement of the operation member in the axial direction of the sheave shaft. Accordingly, the distance from the normal position to the trip position can be adjusted by turning the adjusting lever.
