Abstract (en)
Heat exchanger, particularly an evaporator for a refrigerant fluid in a motor vehicle air conditioning system, has a feed injection manifold (4) with outlets (9) into heat transfer elements e.g. tubes/ panels (2). Flow-area reducing devices (110) are located at or/and in the outlets from the feed manifold, and similarly in any internal by-pass feed channels. The flow-area reducing devices cause local elevation of fluid velocity and hence increased turbulence, producing more uniform mixing of vapour and liquid and ultimately a more uniform temperature distribution across the exchanger. The devices reduce the equivalent hydraulic diameters of the flow channels by approximately 45%, and may take the form of angled metal strips (winglets), wall deformations (nops) orifices or nozzles. In the inlet manifold, the flow area reducers are installed sufficiently upstream of the outlets (9) to allow mixing to occur e.g. approximately 7mm in the case of winglets. The specification illustrates punch tools for creating inlets and wall deformations.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Wärmetauscher mit mindestens einem Einspritzrohr, (4) einer Mehrzahl von Durchtrittsöffnungen (9') und einer Mehrzahl von über die Durchtrittsöffnungen (9') mit dem Einspritzrohr (4) direkt oder indirekt verbundener, eine Wärmeübergangsfläche bildender Elemente, durch welche ein Medium strömt, welches im Bereich des Wärmetauschers (1) zumindest teilweise einen Phasenwechsel durchläuft, wobei am Eintritt und/oder im Inneren und/oder an den Durchtrittsöffnungen (9') des Einspritzrohres (4) mindestens ein Element (110; 110'; 210; 310, 410; 410') zur Erhöhung der Strömungsgeschwindigkeit vorgesehen ist, so dass eine Vermischung von flüssigem und gasförmigem Kältemittel erfolgt.
