[origin: WO2006029706A1] The invention relates to a hand rail for an escalator or a moving walkway, comprising a flexible base body (1) with two lateral lips (2a, 2b) that wrap around a guide rail (4). The respective ends of the lateral lips are provided with a bulge (6a, 6b), which engages in a corresponding guide groove (8a, 8b) of the guide rail (4), thus securing the hand rail against lateral slippage. The invention also relates to a corresponding guide rail (4), which is equipped with a guide groove (8a, 8b) for guiding the lateral lips of the hand rail.
