Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006042686A1] The invention relates to a method for preparing an attachment operation in an air-jet spinning device. Said device comprises a drafting mechanism, the main drafting zone of the latter being delimited on the entry side by a pair of belt rolls (5, 6) and on the exit side by a pair of delivery rolls (9, 10). The belt roll pair (5, 6) is connected to a first drive (12) and the delivery roll pair (9, 10) is connected to a second drive (13). After an interruption of the spinning operation, the delivery of bonded continuous staple fibres is interrupted in the main drafting zone (11) and a new start section for the bonded continuous staple fibres is created. Said new start section is to be attached to the end of a thread that has already been spun. To create a new start section for the bonded continuous fibres that is suitable for attachment, both the belt roll pair (5, 6) and the delivery roll pair (9, 10) are separately controlled and halted during an interruption of the spinning process, in such a way that a suitable new start section of the bonded continuous staple fibres is created in the main drafting zone.
