[origin: WO2006039909A1] The invention relates to a burner device with a combustion chamber (26) at least partly filled with a porous body (28), with an evaporation zone (12), arranged before the combustion chamber (26), for the evaporation of a liquid fuel supplied by a fuel line (16), an ignition device (30), for the ignition of a combustion mixture of evaporated liquid fuel and combustion air, provided to the evaporation zone (12) by means of a combustion air line (18) and an exhaust gas discharge (38) arranged after the combustion chamber (26). The invention is characterised in that a mixing zone (20) is arranged between the evaporation zone (14) and the combustion chamber (26), in which a combustion gas supplied to the mixing zone (20) by a combustion gas line (22, 24) may be mixed with the combustion air and/or the combustion mixture. The invention further relates to the use of the burner device as an afterburner in a fuel cell arrangement and a corresponding fuel cell arrangement.
