[origin: WO2006029760A2] The invention relates to a method and to a device for converting source image data into target image data. According to said method, source image data is processed in order to produce a source image in at least one first colour. Target image data which is used to produce a target image in at least one second colour which is different from the first colour is produced with the aid of the source image. A brightness value of the colouring of the source data in the region of the image pixels is determined with the aid of source image data for each image pixel of a target image. Target image data is produced according to the determined brightness values, through which each image pixel in a target image produced in the second colour has the same brightness value as the brightness value determined for the respective image pixel in the source image.
