[origin: WO2006042350A1] The invention relates to a casting die (1) for producing cast workpieces (2) consisting of light metal alloys, in particular for the motor vehicle industry, said casting die (1) being equipped with at least one positioning element in a predetermined position for fixing at least one pre-formed core part (3) that remains in the cast workpiece (2). At least one pin-type positioning element (7), which tapers towards its free end is fixed to the casting die (1). The invention also relates to a method for producing cast workpieces (2) consisting of light metal alloys, in particular for the motor vehicle industry. According to said method, at least one pre-formed core part (3) that remains in the cast workpiece (2) is held in a predetermined position in a casting die (1), a positioning element (7) that is fixed to the casting die (1) is introduced into the core part (3) and the latter (3) is held by the positioning element (7) in a friction fit.
