Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2006044134A2] The invention relates to a tissue product that includes (a) a tissue fibrous web incorporated throughout the tissue product; (b) a temporary wet strength agent capable of forming hemi-acetal bonds with the fibers of the web to prevent immediate degradation of the web when the tissue product contacts water; and (c) a composition containing a degrading agent selected from the group consisting of alkaline agents, oxidizing agents, nucleophilic agents, and combinations thereof. The invention also relates to compositions used to make such a tissue product as well as methods for making and using such compositions.
