[origin: US2010288386A1] An interval switch means for a shower and an alternating shower provided with such an interval switch means are described. An automatic interval operation of the shower with alternating warm water and cold water phases according to a first embodiment is obtained by controlling a hot water line of the shower leading to the mixer into an open and closed condition. According to a second embodiment simultaneously a blocking element arranged in the line leading from the mixer to the shower head and a second blocking element arranged in a bypass line bypassing the mixer are controlled such that alternately warm water is discharged through the mixer and cold water is discharged through the bypass line. In this manner a shower can be redesigned into an alternating shower with simple means.
