Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006040439A1] The invention relates to pyrotechnic actuators, comprising a piston and with the essential function of exercising a force for displacement of an object on emergence of the piston, more particularly, a pyrotechnic actuator (1), comprising a pyrotechnic gas generator (2), a combustion chamber (3), a piston (10), which may be displaced in a sliding chamber (4) with the effects of said gas, the two chambers (3, 4) being in communication with each other. The actuator is characterised in comprising a closing device (5), applied after the triggering of said actuator (1), to interrupt the communication between the two chambers (3, 4), said closing device (5) being included in the sliding chamber (4).
