Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006042853A1] The invention relates to a coil winding device and a method of using same. The invention is particularly suitable for winding electromagnetic coils around a closed magnetic circuit with no opening, e.g. a circuit in the form of a hoop. The inventive device comprises a spiral cavity (12, 45, 46), means for maintaining the hoop (3) in a determined position inside the spiral cavity (12, 45, 46) and means (13) for pushing the wire (10) towards the spiral cavity (12, 45, 46). The inventive method comprises the following steps consisting in: inserting a first end of the wire (10) into the means (13) used to push the wire (10) towards the spiral cavity (12); placing the hoop (3) in the determined position thereof; pushing the wire (10) into the spiral cavity (12), such as to form a desired number of loops; releasing the hoop (3) and removing the wire (10) from the push means (13); and cutting a second end of the wire (10).
