Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1803506A2] The label (3) is removed from its background (2), which is a container. Before and/or during release, it is perforated using ultrasound. This takes place in an alkaline bath, preferably of caustic soda. The ultrasound is at a frequency at or above the upper limit of human hearing. It is at 16-400 kHz, especially at 20 kHz. The energy density used, is in accordance with the interval required for effective action. These variables, i.e. effective energy density and duration, are in inverse proportion. A range of operational conditions is specified. Especially preferred conditions are: frequency 20 kHz, energy density 42 W/cm 2> and duration 90 s. Alternative conditions of 20 kHz, 85 W/cm 2> and 45 s are also specified.
