[origin: WO2006032489A1] The invention relates to a method for the application of polymer materials, in particular high performance polymer materials, in a simple manner as a coating on flat seals. According to the invention, the polymer material is applied, as a layer, to the surface of the flat seal by means of thermo-injection. The polymer material is introduced in a powdered form, in particular suspended in a carrier gas, accompanied by a pressurised gas flow in a flow of a hot gas, and the pressurised gas flow is dosed in such a manner that the temperature of the decomposition temperature of the polymer material is not reached.
