[origin: WO2006034858A2] The invention relates to a method and system for automatically processing a job ticket for a printing process. Said job ticket corresponds to a JDF-format, i.e. it contains intent instructions which are put in a concrete form during a printing process. The concretisation is determined by resolution. Said invention is characterised in that the resolution is carried out by templates which are automatically selectable by means of the names thereof and resources listed in the job ticket. In the job ticket, the templates are subordinate to nodes containing the intent instructions to resolve. Said templates can comprise a section in the form of a tree structure.
