Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1806189A2] Charging hole for traveling ladle is made from steel plate (4). Two mirror-image refractory edging blocks (8, 8') are mounted inside the hole to protect the steel from contact with molten metal or slag. The blocks have flanges (11, 11') which fit over the rim of the hole. An independent claim is included for the refractory blocks.
