[origin: EP1806213A1] The method involves providing substances dissolved or emulsified in water as an impregnating agent for influencing the elastic, mechanical, chemical and/or biological characteristics by vacuum impregnation and drying with dry vapors. The impregnating agent is a solution of minerals or salts, where the agent contains borax. The wood chips are mixed with the substances dissolved in the water, where the mixtures evacuate at a predetermined pressure.
