Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2006045912A1] The invention relates to a protective helmet (1) which is intended, in particular, for motorcycling. The inventive helmet comprises a shell (2) having a visor (3) and a movable chin guard (4) fixed to the lateral walls (21, 22) thereof. According to the invention, the chin guard can be lifted over the visor and pivoted to the rear (23) of the shell from a closed position to an open position. In the closed position, the visor rests against an upper outer edge (43) of the chin guard. In addition, the shell and the chin guard comprise complementary guide means (51, 52, 61, 62), such that the trajectory followed by the chin guard between the closed position and the open position is not entirely circular. Instead, the chin guard first moves away from the shell, is subsequently lifted and pivoted above the visor, and finally moves closer to the shell at the rear thereof.
