Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006047982A2] Disclosed is a transversally supported tibia plateau comprising two joint areas (3), two joint area supports (1), and a transversal support (4). Said TTTP is disposed such that the joint areas (3) can be inserted into the knee joint from the front. Said arrangement makes it possible to perform surgery in a simplified manner while the ventral cortical bone remains intact. Embodying separate joint area supports (1) and joint areas (3) allows the joint area supports (1) to be fixed to the transversal support (4) first, e.g. with the aid of support screws (2). Alternatively, the joint area supports (1) or the joint area units (321) can be implanted from above at an angle first while the ventral cortical bone remains intact, whereupon said joint area supports (1) or joint area units (321) can be accommodated and supported from the side by a transversal support (4) that is configured accordingly.
