[origin: WO2006048175A1] The invention relates to a damping assembly (10) for the closing displacement of furniture components that can be displaced in relation to the body of a piece of furniture, such as cupboard doors, drawers, leaves or similar. Said assembly comprises a housing (12), which is sunk into a recess of one of the displaceable furniture components, said housing containing a pressure part (22), which is pre-tensioned in position projecting away from the housing by a spring assembly, rests against the other furniture part during the closing displacement and which can be retracted into the housing (12) in opposition to the spring pre-tension, and a damping device that responds in accordance with the speed by means of a fluidic damping medium. The housing (12) comprises an elongated, narrow housing body (14), which is shallow and at least partially open along one side in the vicinity of the pressure part (22) and which lies in a complementary recess of the furniture component, when assembled correctly, facing towards the corresponding second furniture part. The pressure part (22) is configured as a lever arm, which protrudes from the housing (12) and can be pivoted about an axis that runs parallel to the open housing side and perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the housing, between a position in which it is largely retracted in the housing interior and a position in which its free end protrudes from the housing forming the pressure surface. The end region of one face of the pressure part (22) that faces away from the open housing side engages with a sliding part that is coupled to the damping device and/or spring assembly.
