[origin: EP1640282A1] The sheet metal lid (1) has a lid panel (10) surrounded by a folded edge (11). The panel has a large dimensioned opening (15) enclosed by a circumferential strip (16) which is axially offset opposite a plane (E) of the opening surface. A circumferentially and radially extending reinforcement plateau 20) runs along at least one circumferential section of the strip. The reinforcement plateau can be formed sickle-shaped with a central bulge (23) and two circumferentially extending arms (21,22).
