[origin: EP1810945A2] The device has a vertical support device (22) for supporting a load (10) above gripping pins (32) that are swivellable around an axis. The pins have an actuating section (36) and a gripping section (38) that grips and retains a section of the load approximately against a movement in a direction. A retaining unit (34) is provided for retaining the load against another movement in another direction, and the pins are connected with each other.
