[origin: EP1811141A2] The pan has a drain mechanism (10) including an adjustable valve body (11) that is disposed in a drain opening (13) in a wall of the oil pan that is made of plastic, where the body is adjustable between a closed position and an open position. A sealing unit (12) made of a flexible material is arranged on the valve body for closing the drain opening in the oil pan wall when the valve body is in the closed position. The body is secured by a closing unit on the wall of the oil pan when the body is in the closed position, and the sealing unit is held in the closed position by the closing unit.
