Abstract (en)
The unit has a rotary switch (4) as a handle, and an optical indicator (8) for indicating two different symbols e.g. character, is arranged in the switch. The indicator has multi color light emitting diodes (LED) (11), dazzle plate (12) with a dazzle opening (13) that is formed for the symbols, where a mask is laid on the indicator. Symbol openings (15) are arranged between the LEDs and the mask. A diffuser plate (16) is arranged on one side of the mask.

Um ein elektrisches Schalt- und/oder Stellelement (1) mit einem Drehschalter (4) als Handhabe dahingehend weiterzubilden, dass es vielseitiger einsetzbar ist, insbesondere eine Rückkopplung in Form der Ausgabe von Informationen an den Bediener ermöglicht, wird vorgeschlagen, dass in dem Drehschalter (4) eine optische Anzeigeeinrichtung (8) zur Anzeige von wenigstens zwei unterschiedlichen Symbolen angeordnet ist.
