Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006042349A1] The invention relates to a device for displaying the derailment state of at least one wheel of a rail-guided, particularly a rail-mounted, vehicle, e.g. a locomotive, wherein a rail (1) is detachably connected to a base, e.g., a wooden tie (3) or a concrete slab, by means of fixing elements such as screws (4) or clamps, for example. A sensor (5) for detecting a derailed wheel is disposed alongside and beneath a top edge of the rail, wherein the top edges of the rail define the rail plane (2). According to the invention, a cover (6) is provided for the at least one sensor (5), upwardly covering the one or more fixing elements (4) essentially to protect the latter against the direct effects of the derailed wheel, whereby the derailed wheel is covered at least partially in the direction of the rail. The sensor (5) incorporates a pressure, force, displacement and/or acceleration sensor.
