Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006042735A2] Various embodiments of display devices exist for the optical reproduction of alphanumeric and/or graphical representations for different applications. The disadvantage of known display devices is that the means for enlarging the image between the entrance plane and the emergence plane are very costly, especially for lenses and mirrors, and the association of the pixels in the X plane and the Y plane must be exact, in order to avoid geometrical distortions. The aim of the invention is to provide a monitor which enables large-screen representation and can be economically produced. To this end, the inventive monitor comprises the following elements: an image-producing element (2), a plurality of optical waveguides (3), each pixel of the image-producing element (2) being connected to one of the optical waveguides (3), a screen (4), each pixel (45) of the screen (4) being connected to one of the optical waveguides (3), and an electronic control system (1) which is connected to the image-producing element (2). The association of the pixels (45) of the image-producing element (2) is carried out according to pixels scanned on the screen (4). The invention can be applied to the field of entertainment electronics or to the display-producing industry.
