A vibration activator has at least one rotating weight eccentric in relation to the rotational axis and driving mechanisms that induces the eccentric weight to rotate. The die position of rotational axis or axes is fixed in relation to a vibrating plate. The driving mechanism has a single electric motor (66). The rotational axis or axes extends or extend, respectively, transversely to the defined sagittal plane. The vibrating plate is coupled to the base element to deflect vibrating plate in vertical and horizontal directions with the rotation of eccentric weight.

Gemäss der Erfindung wird ein Gerät zur Stimulation des menschlichen Körpers mittels Vibrationen zur Verfügung gestellt, das eine zu Vibrationen anregbare Schwingplatte mit einer Standfläche aufweist. Durch das Gerät ist definiert, wie der Benutzer in einem Normalbetrieb auf der Standfläche zu stehen hat: durch Festhaltemittel (Handgriffe) und/oder Markierungen ist eine Vorwärtsrichtung (und damit auch eine Rückwärtsrichtung) definiert. Das heisst, die Sagittalebene des Benutzers ist relativ zum Gerät definiert. Das Gerät weist einen Schwingungsanreger auf. Dieser besitzt mindestens ein drehbares und bezüglich einer Drehachse exzentrisches Gewicht und einen Elektromotor, mittels welchem das exzentrische Gewicht in eine Drehbewegung versetzbar ist, wobei die Position der Drehachse relativ zur Schwingplatte fest ist. Die Drehachse bzw. alle Drehachsen ist/sind nun so gewählt, dass sie transversal (quer) zu der definierten Sagittalebene verläuft bzw. verlaufen.
