[origin: EP1813426A2] The sensor (10) has a transmission device (12) directing an optical testing beam to an area of a printed sheet transport path. A receiving device (17) receives the testing beam or the testing beam to be reflected to a reflector device (14) as reflection beam (16) when no printed sheet is present in an area of the printed sheet transport path. The testing beam and/or the reflection beam strikes on a printed sheet surface with an angle of maximum 5 degree when the printed sheet is present in the area of the transport path.
