[origin: EP1813720A1] The method involves establishing at least one property of a fibrous web (5), such that one of a preselected quality range is adhered to and a predefined quality value is undershot by no more than a predefined deviation. The at least one property of the fibrous web includes cross direction (CD) profile. Power consumption is reduced by establishing the property of the fibrous web, such that one of the lowest permissible value of a quality range and maximum permissible deviation is reached at least approximately on a straight line. The power consumption includes a heat energy input. An independent claim is included for the fibrous web production and treatment apparatus.
