[origin: WO2006053764A1] The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner comprising a dirt collecting container (10) and a motor filter unit (20). The dirt collecting container (10) is detachably connected to the motor filter unit (20). The aim of the invention is to improve the handling of said type of vacuum cleaner whilst emptying the dirt collecting container. According to the invention, when disconnecting the connection between the motor filter unit (20) and the dirt collecting container (10), the motor filter unit (20) can be tilted or displaced from the mounting position and can be separated from the dirt collecting container (10) and can be placed in a separated adjusting position. The motor filter unit (20) rests upon the adjusting elements (28, 29.3) in the adjusting position in an autonomous manner.
