Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006056186A1] The invention relates to a method for protecting a pipe and/or cable lead-through (14) from heat and/or fire, comprising a dimensionally stable formable fireproof element (10) which can produce an intumescent foam. The aim of the invention is to produce a fireproof element and a method of the above-mentioned type, which enables the pipe and/or cable lead-through (14) to be protected on the spot and in an economical manner from the penetration of heat and fire. According to the invention, the fireproof element (10) has an elongate form, preferably cylindrical or strip-shaped and is, preferably, 50 cm long and is disposed in a transversal manner in relation to the pipe and/or cable in the pipe and/or cable lead-through (14).
