Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006039924A1] The invention includes a machine foot and a method for support of machines and devices. The invention ensures that machine feet can be produced for a given application so that the product can be used in environments, which propose stringent demands for hygiene including e.g. hospitals and food manufacturing institutions including slaughterhouses. It is a special feature of the invention that the forces from the machine base to the supporting surface in the machine foot is transmitted from the spindle, mounted in the machine, which is being supported, to the machine foot's base via a sleeve or a ring, which presses down on the top of the base part. Hereby it is achieved that the space/gap between the spindle and the base becomes smaller the greater the force being transmitted. This results in that the sealing and thereby the resistance towards penetrating dirt and bacteria is increased along with the load on the machine foot. The machine foot is therefore especially suited for application in environments with high demands to hygiene. The invention additionally ensures that the manufacturing process' complexity as well as the material consumption and thereby the total production cost as well as the weight of the machine foot is reduced to a minimum.
