The unit has a strip of cleaning cloth wound on a core in the form of a spindle (2) and wetted with cleaning liquid and enclosed by a protective casing. The cleaning cloth is moistened by the liquid to below a saturation level, whereby the volume of the absorbed cleaning liquid amounts a minimum of 35 pr cent and a maximum of 90 per cent of the maximum cleaning liquid absorbable by the cloth.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Reinigungseinheit für eine Druckmaschine. Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zu Grunde, eine Reinigungseinheit zu schaffen, die insbesondere mit relativ geringem Aufwand die auf einen im Wesentlichen kreiszylindrischen Rotationskörper befindliche Verschmutzung vollständig beseitigt. Gelöst wird das dadurch, indem auf einer in eine Tuchwaschvorrichtung einsetzbaren Spindel (2) ein Tuchwickel (4) angeordnet ist und das den Tuchwickel (4) bildende Reinigungstuch unterhalb seiner Sättigungsgrenze von einer Reinigungsflüssigkeit durchfeuchtet ist. Der Tuchwickel (4) ist von einer Schutzummantelung (5) umhüllt und zwischen Tuchwickel (4) und Schutzummantelung (5) ist eine gasförmige Umgebungsatmosphäre (10) angeordnet.
