[origin: EP1816098A1] The method involves feeding printed sheets (8, 9) to a printing machine (3) of a stacker (2) by a transport device, and separating the printed sheets by a separator at a stack (5). Remaining copies (x1-x6) of production are counted by a counting device (7), where the stack to be formed from the remaining copies is formed with respect to each copy. The stack of different lengths of determined number of remaining copies is developed from the remaining copies. An independent claim is also included for a device for forming stacks of different lengths of printed sheets comprising a stacker.
