[origin: WO2006058354A1] The invention relates to a method for providing gas mixtures for respirators, according to which a plurality of different gases is fed to a mixing chamber (8) via selector valves (VL, VO). Said selector valves (VL, VO) are timed to open and close and the pressure in the mixing chamber (8) is monitored. The different gases are respectively conducted by means of a plurality of parallel selector valves (VL, VO), said valves (VL, VO) being controlled in such a way that a number of selector valves, corresponding to a coarse mixing ratio of the gases, are opened and closed synchronously and each selector valve (VL, VO) is assigned to a different gas.
