[origin: WO2006059220A2] A hybrid riser system (10) for connection between a floating unit (12) and a sub-sea unit (14) that is located at the sea floor (18). The riser system (10) comprises a composite conduit (22) for transporting a fluid between said floating (12) and sub-sea units (14) and at least one end pipe section (20,24) that is adapted to be connected between the floating (12) and/or the subsea unit (14) and the composite conduit (22). Said at least one end pipe section (20,24) comprises a metallic pipe or a non-bonded flexible pipe.
