[origin: EP1818036A2] The bed (10) has a rectangular frame (12) with two transversally positioned support bars (42,44). The legs (24,26) are designed in units of two, connected with horizontal bars (28,30), fitted with castors (74) at their lower ends, and joined to guiding profiles (36) with their upper ends. Two electrically operated pushing rods (58) act on curved bars (50) inserted between transversal bars (48) and the center of the legs (24,26) in order to push or pull the legs (24,26) into a lifted or lowered position as required.
