Abstract (en)
The automated fabrication of cylindrical metal containers, incorporating a crimped bottom, comprises: (A) taking a metal sleeve (V) which is maintained vertical; (B) trimming the upper end to form the circumference of a lip or flange; (C) mechanically distributing and positioning a metal disk on this lip; (D) mechanically crimping the metal disk to the lip to form the bottom of the container; (E) turning the container over after crimping; (F) expanding the body of the container by inserting a mechanical expansion tool (141) to increase the diameter of the container. An independent claim is also included for the automated fabrication line using this method.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication automatisé de récipients métalliques (E) sensiblement conique ou cylindro-conique comportant un fond serti dans lequel successivement: a) on prélève une virole (V) de métal cylindrique que l'on maintient verticalement et; b) on borde l'extrémité supérieure (V1) de ladite virole (V) pour former à la circonférence de celle-ci un rebord (V2), c) on distribue et on positionne mécaniquement un disque métallique sur ledit rebord (V2), on serti celui-ci et on retourne ledit récipient après sertissage et f) on produit une expansion dudit récipient (E) de manière à élargir diamétralement ledit récipient et lui conférer une forme sensiblement conique ou cylindro-conique.
