[origin: EP1818526A2] In a process to regulate the ratio of fuel to air during the start-up phase (carburetor or fuel injection) of petrol or gas-fueled piston engine operation, the ratio is continually modified until such time as the engine starts. The start-up procedure commences with a lean mixture.
