Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1321919A2] A first printing material layer (1) is coated on one side with an adhesive compound (2) and the latter is covered by a protective release film (3). Printing ink (11,12) is applied onto the side of the printing layer facing the adhesive and also on the other side of the printing layer. <??>Independent claims are made for: <??>(1) a use of the claimed label on packaging, e.g. tubes, cans, bottles, saucepans of glass, plastic or metal; <??>(2) a process for manufacturing labels in which print is applied to both sides of the printing layer in a single operation, a self adhesive coating is applied onto a release coating of a carrier strip and the latter and printed layer are laminated together.
