[origin: GB2420489A] A cover for the base of a stemmed glass has a lower cover piece 7 and an upper cover piece 6 which are joined together around at least part of their respective peripheral regions 8 so as to define a pocket 10 between the upper and lower pieces into which the base of the stemmed glass may be located. The cover is preferably formed at least partially of an absorbent fabric material so as to absorb condensation formed on the glass and the fabric material advantageously has elasticity. Slitting, possibly also unjoined edge regions, provide for insertion of the glass base. The under surface of the cover may have a non-slip surface or texture. The upper cover piece may carry promotional material.
