Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006037245A2] The invention concerns an automatic device (10) for providing covers for compact items, in particular letters, mail and/or documents and/or objects designed to be inserted in envelopes (13), allowing high rate provision of covers, comprising a fixture (11) whereon are mounted a storage bin (14) containing stacked envelopes (13) arranged such that they can be removed one by one at the base of the stack and a gripping and turning cam (17). Said gripping and turning cam (17) is arranged to move the envelopes (13) individually and successively towards an envelope filling zone. The device comprises a positioning guide (26) arranged on the path of said envelopes (13) and configured to clip the flaps closing the envelopes and open their pocket and a scraper, tangential relative to the surface of the rotary gripping and turning cam (17), enabling the rear walls (15) of the envelopes (13) to be clipped.
